The Emerson Men's Tennis Team fell to the Wheaton (Mass.) Lyons in a New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference battle on Saturday morning.
Bass Lin and Dan Okin opened up the match with a victory in the top doubles pairing, defeating Javier Esteban de Celis and Ian Tracy 8-3. The Lions dropped the second doubles pairing but Brock hugely and Jeff Pratt took the third doubles pairing over David Hernanez Sanz and Ned Roosevelt 8-5 to give Emerson a 2-1 lead after the doubles matches.
Lin continued his strong play by defeating Tracy in the top singles pairing in three sets, 7-5, 4-6, 10-7. Maximo Lawlor defeated de Celis in straight sets 6-4, 6-1. The Lions were unable to take any of the four last pairings, giving Wheaton the victory 5-4.
Emerson gets back in action on Wednesday when they welcome MIT to St. John's Prep in Danvers, Mass. for a NEWMAC matchup starting at 4:00pm.
