Men's Tennis Downs Endicott For Second Straght Victory

The Emerson Men's Tennis Team took on the Endicott Gulls on Sunday, defeating the Gulls 6-3 in match play.  Emerson earns their second straight win, improving their record to 4-2 and 2-0 in the spring, before traveling to Floria for spring break next week.

Emerson took two of the three doubles pairing, with Bass Lin and Dan Okin opening the match with an 8-4 win over Thomas Brent and Cooper Walters.  Maximo Lawlor and Jeff Pratt followed Lin and Okin with a hard fought victory over Daniel Rinkert and Charles Book, 8-6.

Emerson took a 2-1 lead into the singles matches.  Lin, Lawlor, and Okin all won their singles matches in the first three pairings.  Lin defeated Rinkert 6-4, 6-3.  Lawlor defeated Walters 6-2, 6-2.  Okin defeated Brent 7-6, 6-3, giving Emerson a 5-2 lead which won the match for Emerson.  Bernardo Garza continued the strong play by the Lions, defeating C. Papadopoulos 0-6, 6-4, 11-9 over the three set match.

Emerson is back in action next week, opening up their spring break trip against King's (Pa.) on March third.
