Worcester, Mass. – Emerson Men's Tennis traveled to Clark University where they fell short as the Cougars took the day, 8-1.
The win for the Scarlet and White snaps a three match losing streak, sending their overall record to 6-11 and they are now 1-2 in conference matches.
For the Lions, meanwhile, after opening the season with five straight wins under new head coach Dan Munsey, they have now lost four straight, including their first two conference matches.
Emerson's lone win on the afternoon came at No. 1 single as Antonio Ramirez got by Andrey Samodaev, 6-2, 6-3. The Lions almost had another victory in the day's longest matchup, Daniel Okin took the first set 6-2, but then the Cougars Spencer Pinkney rallied back in the final two, 7-6, 10-4 to take the No. 2 single.
Clark is off until next Wednesday when they travel to Springfield for a meeting with the Pride, while Emerson looks to return to the win column on Saturday when they visit Babson.
