Box Score The Emerson Women's lacrosse team had an impressive win in a conference matchup against Wellesley, final score 15-7. This game brought Emerson's record to 8-4 overall and 3-3 in the NEWMAC. This loss will bring Wellesley's record to 6-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
Emerson and Wellesley remained extremely competitive throughout the first half. Both teams were lighting up the board, with the Lions scoring 7, while Wellesley put up 5. Emerson junior, Guerin Morissette, scored 3 of these goals for Emerson, and 5 total.
Emerson had an explosive start in the second half, going on a 5-goal run. Sophomore Meredith Weber scored three during this streak, her only goals of the game. Wellesley was able to get two more past Lion's goalie Victoria Kanaris, which just wasn't enough to make up the difference. Emerson scored 8 total in the second half.
The Lions lead the game in ground balls, Wellesley was quick on the draw, winning 13 draw controls to Emerson's 11.

It was also Senior Recognition night, as it was the Lion's last home game. Women's Lacrosse has 3 graduating senors - Macy Day, Naomi Kramer, Marlee Galper.
Macy Day
Macy Day is a 5'9 Defender from Rochester, NH and is a member of both the Varsity Women's Basketball and Women's Lacrosse Teams at Emerson. Macy was a 3 year starting defender for the Lions until she faced a season ending injury this winter. In her 3 seasons, Macy posted 81 ground balls, leading the team in 2 of those seasons. She also recorded 24 caused turnovers and 22 draw controls. Macy will graduate in May with a degree in Marketing with a minor in Journalism. While she has been sorely missed on the field this season, Macy's energy, support, and ability to scream much louder than Kat have been unparalleled this season. Macy Day is one of a kind and her presence and role in the Emerson Athletic Department will not be forgotten.
Naomi Kramer
Next up is Naomi Kramer who is joined by parents, Jodi & Phil. Naomi is a 5'4 defender from Dummerston, VT who is a member of both the Varsity Women's Soccer and Women's Lacrosse teams. As a 3 year starter for the Lions, Naomi has tallied 65 ground balls, 28 draw controls, and 39 caused turnovers. In May, Naomi will graduate with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a minor in hearing and deafness. This season, Naomi's leadership over a young defensive group has been crucial in the success of the Lions who have held opponents to a 8.38 goals against average. Her tenacity, aggressive play, and athleticism have been a force on defense and extremely impressive to her coaches and teammates this season and will be sincerely missed next year.
Marlee Galper
Marlee Galper is a 5'6, 4-year starting Midfielder and current captain from Santa Monica, CA. Over 4 seasons, Marlee has picked up 68 ground balls, 7 draw controls, and added 20 caused turnovers. Stepping into a more offensive role this season, Marlee has collected 21 goals and 17 assists over her career. Marlee's leadership on defense, connection in the midfield, and vision on attack has been monumental to the success of the team this year. Beyond her contributions on the field, Marlee's spirit and passion motivate and inspire the entire team every single day. Marlee will graduate in May with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with minors in hearing and deafness and in Science. Marlee plans to spend 6 months following graduation working for and playing with Israel Lacrosse. We couldn't be prouder of you, Marlee!
