Emerson junior, Tayllar Righini, scored the opening goal, putting the Lion's in the lead for the first and only time in the game. Righini went on to score two other goals, for three overall. Babson's Rachel Secrist ended this lead scoring a goal just a mere 20 seconds later, to tie the game.
The Lion's only scored 2 more goals during the first half while Babson scored 8 total, creating a nice gap between the two teams. Both Julia Harrigan and Secrist scored 3 goals during the first half and Secrist went on to have 6 overall. The half ended 8-3.
Despite the Lion's continuing to fight, the gap between the teams continued to widen during the second half. Emerson sophomore, Meredith Weber, had 3 goals this half, and 4 overall.
Despite the score, Emerson remained aggressive throughout the game retrieving more ground balls than Babson by two.
