BOSTON, Mass. (September 28, 2026) – Emerson College first year midfielder Cade Lagerwey has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Offensive Player of the Week for men's soccer, presented by SKYBOKX 109 Bar & Grill located in Framingham, Massachusetts, by the Conference office today.
Lagerwey scored a pair of second half goals to rally Emerson from a halftime deficit and secure a 2-1 triumph over Bridgewater State University on Tuesday in the Lions lone match of the week. Lagerwey's first collegiate multi-goal match lifted Emerson from a 1-0 halftime deficit in the final half hour of the match with his two markers.
Lagerwey has started all eight matches for Emerson in his first collegiate season and shares the NEWMAC lead with his four goals scored, while ranking fourth in scoring with eight points. His two match winning goals are tied for second in the Conference and ranks 32nd nationally in NCAA Division III.
Emerson (4-3-1, 0-1-0 NEWMAC) returns to action on Tuesday when it opens a three match homestand at Rotch Field this week when it hosts Westfield State University for a non-conference match at 6 p.m. The Lions host Lasell University on Wednesday at 7 p.m., before returning to NEWMAC play to host No. 18 Wheaton College on Saturday at 4 p.m.
