MARLBOROUGH, Mass.- Sophomore Riley Caiazza (Schaghticoke, N.Y.) and senior Jessica Gomez (West Chester, Pa.) of the Emerson College softball team both garnered New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference first team accolades, as the league office announced its end-of-season awards Tuesday.
Caiazza batted .368 on the year with a team-high 39 base knocks. She paced Emerson with 17 RBIs and a .491 slugging-percentage. Caiazza also added 14 runs scored and three stolen bases.
In conference play, Caiazza owned a .420 batting average while racking up 29 hits and 10 RBIs.
Gomez started all 35 games this spring and hit .330 with a .481 slugging percentage. She recorded 35 hits, 14 RBIs, and 13 runs scored.
In the pitcher's circle, Gomez made 19 appearances and sported a 6-8 record with one save. She registered 42 strikeouts in 87.2 innings of action.
Emerson concluded the 2025 campaign with an 18-17 overall record to go with a 10-10 mark in conference competition. The Lions made their first trip to the NEWMAC Tournament since 2019 this spring, securing the No. 6 seed and falling to Coast Guard in the opening round.
