BOSTON, Mass. (November 26, 2025) – Emerson College sophomore guard Jessie Silk has earned a spot on the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Weekly Second Team after leading the Lions to split at the UMass Dartmouth Tournament.
Silk, who was named to the NEWBA Weekly First Team along with New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Offensive Player of the Week last week, earns weekly team of the week honors from NEWBA for the second-straight week with her second team selection. She collected her second All-Tournament team recognition in as many weeks after leading the Emerson at the Lafrance Hospitality Tournament, hosted by UMass Dartmouth, by averaging a double-double of 20.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game, shooting 58.3-percent from the floor (14-for-24), including 3-for-4 (75%) from three-point distance, adding 1.5 assists and a steal per game.
Silk led all scorers in Sunday's 72-61 win over the University of New England with 23 points, including 18 after halftime, on 7-of-11 shooting, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, while converting 7-of-11 free-throws by drawing 12 fouls, with eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. She recorded a double-double against host UMass Dartmouth on Saturday by adding 17 points and 12 rebounds, finishing 7-for-13 shooting from the floor.
Silk leads the NEWMAC in scoring with 19.3 points per game (12th nationally) after Tuesday night's win over Western New England University, while ranking second with 12.0 rebounds (30th), including a NEWMAC best 10.4 defensive boards per game (7th). She is connecting at 48.3-percent (14-for-29) from three-point range (25th) to rank third among NEWMAC leaders – first among those with more than 20 attempts, shooting 42.1% from the floor overall to rank tenth in the Conference. Silk is also contributing 2.1 assists and 1.6 steals in 33.0 minutes per contest.
Silk leads the NEWMAC and ranks third nationally with her five double-doubles. She has attempted a NEWMAC-leading 56 free-throws (third nationally), making a Conference-high 41 (fourth), converting at 73.2%. Silk has scored in double-figures in eight-straight games dating back to last season, giving her 22 double-digit scoring games for her career and reached double-digits in rebounds five time this year.
Silk has started all 31 games she has played over her first two seasons at Emerson, averaging 12.5 points on 42.2-percent shooting, including 43.2% from three-point range, converting 74.1% of her free-throws. She has totaled 389 points, 218 rebounds, 102 assists and 38 steals for her career, having scored in double figures in 22 of her 31 career games, with ten-plus rebounds seven times. Silk has led the Lions in scoring six times and the team posting a 5-1 mark in those contests.
Emerson (5-2, 0-0 NEWMAC) is off until next Thursday, December 4, when it visits The Fenway for a non-conference matchup at Emmanuel College at 7 p.m. The Lions next home game is two days later on Saturday, December 6, when they host Framingham State University at 3:30 p.m.
