Hokenson Named to All-NEWMAC Second Team

McLean, Virginia, sophomore earns postseason honors for first time

Hokenson, ChloeBOSTON, Mass. (November 18, 2025) – Emerson College sophomore setter/outside hitter Chloe Hokenson has earned a spot on the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference second team for volleyball as selected by the NEWMAC's 12 head coaches the league announced today.

Hokenson earns All-NEWMAC honors for the first time after enjoying a strong all-around season for Emerson by splitting time on the court as setter and outside hitter and leading the Lions with 311.5 points. It marks the sixth-straight year Emerson has had a student-athlete earn All-NEWMAC honors, with Hokenson the tenth All-Conference selection for the program since joining the NEWMAC in 2013.

Hokenson started all 29 matches for Emerson in her sophomore season, playing all 113 sets and averaging 2.02 kills, 5.53 assists, 0.45 service aces, 2.19 digs and 0.45 blocks per set. She currently ranks seventh among NEWMAC leaders in assists per set and eighth with 51 service aces for a Lions team that leads the Conference with its 2.81 aces per set as a team to rank 25th nationally in Division III.

Hokenson logged ten double-doubles and a NEWMAC-leading two triple-doubles (18th nationally) this season, dishing out 20-plus assists in 14 matches, with 30-plus in seven matches, delivering a career-high 42 assists against Rivier University on September 13. She notched double digit kills in nine matches, including back-to-back 20-plus kill matches, including a career-best 22 at the United States Coast Guard Academy in the Lions regular season finale on November 8, while posting double-figure digs in five matches.

Hokenson has appeared in 54 matches over her first two collegiate seasons at Emerson and surpassed 1,000 career assists in October and will enter her junior year with 1,205 assists (5.97 per set), 329 kills (1.63), 103 service aces (0.51), 443 digs (2.19) and 93 blocks (0.46), scoring 487.5 points over her 202 career sets played. Hokenson has totaled four triple doubles over her Emerson career, with 18 double-doubles, posting 20-plus assists in 32 matches, with 30-plus assists in 14 matches and 40-plus in two matches. She has posted double-digit kills in 11 matches and double-figure digs in seven matches, including a pair of 20-plus dig matches, recording a career-high 24 digs against UMass Dartmouth as a first-year.

Emerson wrapped up its 2025 season with a 14-16 record overall, including 6-5 in NEWMAC play to finish sixth in the regular season standings and earn a spot in the NEWMAC Tournament for the sixth-straight year.
