BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College women's soccer team received three College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team selections, as the organization announced the 2024-25 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team Tuesday. Linae Bezdek (Frisco, Texas), Maddie Khaw (Portland, Ore.), and Yoshiko Slater (Laurel, Md.) all earned the distinction, the program's first Academic All-District accolades since 2010.
The Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes from NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Slater started all 20 matches for the Lions and ranked second on the squad with four goals, including a pair of game-winning tallies. She garnered All-NEWMAC first team honors this fall.
Bezdek paced the Lions and ranked seventh in the league with seven goals on the season. She appeared in all 20 matches and started 18 games while chipping in with one assist. Bezdek was tabbed to the All-NEWMAC second team this season.
Khaw chalked up seven points on the year to rank third on the team, collecting two goals and three assists. She started all 20 matches during the season and registered all seven of her points in conference action. Khaw collected All-NEWMAC second team accolades this year.
Emerson concluded the 2024 campaign with a 7-8-5 overall record to go with a 5-4-2 mark in conference play. The Lions reached the NEWMAC Tournament semifinals before falling to WPI.
