BOSTON, Mass. (December 2, 2025) – Four members of the Emerson College women's soccer program have been recognized for their efforts in the classroom as well as on the field with selections to the Academic All-District® team as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) the organization announced.
Senior midfielder Linae Bezdek headlines Emerson's four Academic All-District® honorees by being named for the second-straight year, while junior Zoe Simmons and sophomores Hailey Forman and Kelsea Laughrey all received the recognition for the first time.

Bezdek, a media arts production major at Emerson with a 3.88 cumulative grade point average, started 17 of the 18 matches she played for the Lions this fall and finished second on the team with eight points, netting three goals with two assists. Two of her three markers were game winners, netting the winning goal in Emerson's first two matches of the year against Husson University (4-1) and Westfield State University (6-1), in which she posted two goals and an assist for a season-best five points.
Bezdek has appeared in 61 matches over her Emerson career, starting 31, and finishing with ten goals and four assists for 24 points, netting five game winners. She earned All-NEWMAC second team honors as a junior when she totaled seven goals and an assist for 24 points, ranking seventh among Conference scoring leaders. Bezdek is also a two-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference performer and earned NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors once during her junior year.
Simmons, a communications studies major with a 3.56 cumulative grade point average, played all 19 matches, starting 18, this fall and totaled three goals and two assists for eight points to finish second on the team. She scored a goal in each of Emerson's final two games of the season, including the Lions 2-1 win at Babson University on November 1, as well as the lone marker in a NEWMAC Quarterfinal round matchup with Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Simmons has started 24 of the 53 matches she has played over her Emerson career and totaled six goals and five assists for 17 points. Her first collegiate goal was the game winner in the Lions 7-0 win at Wheaton College in 2023 and she earned a spot on the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference team as a sophomore.
Forman, a media psychology major that has achieved a 4.00 grade point average at Emerson, enjoyed a breakout season in goal for the Lions. She started all 17 matches played and recorded a 1.18 goals against average that ranked second in the NEWMAC, along with her five shutouts, and .802 save percentage (5th NEWMAC) with 4.8 saves per game (5th) in 1,530-minutes (3rd). Forman earned NEWMAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors once this fall, posting double-digit saves in consecutive matches at Salve Regina University (11) and at Bowdoin College (career-high 12).
Forman has started 18 of the 20 matches she played over her Emerson career and has recorded a 1.36 goals against and .779 save percentage with 88 saves and the five clean sheets over 1,659 career minutes played.
Laughrey, who has earned a 3.96 cumulative grade point average at Emerson, started 14 of the 15 matches she played this fall and shared the team lead with her four assists. She helped the Lions to a sweep of its opening weekend of games with an assist in a 4-1 win over Husson and a career-high three helpers two days later in a 6-1 win over Westfield State University. Laughrey also chipped in with an assist in Emerson's key 2-1 win at Babson to close out the regular season.
Laughrey has started 18 of the 34 matches she has played over her Emerson career, totaling a goal and four assists for six career points. She scored her first collegiate goal at Tufts University in 2024.
Emerson wrapped up its 2025 season with a 9-6-4 record overall, including 7-2-2 in the NEWMAC to finish third in the final regular season standings. The Lions earned a spot in the NEWMAC Tournament for the sixth-straight year and seventh time since joining the Conference.
