HOW IT HAPPENED
-At the end of the first half, both Emerson and Clark sent five shots towards the goal, but came away empty handed as the score sat at 0-0 going into the break.
-The 67th minute of the second frame brought the biggest opportunity for Emerson when freshman Chris Moulinos' shot dinged the crossbar and was cleared by Clark's backline.
69": Two minutes after Emerson's first opportunity went off the crossbar, Rich collected a pass from midfield on the counterattack and created space. With the Marin off his line, Rich went to his left and put in the game's first goal into the bottom right for the 1-0 lead.
-With several minutes left in regulation, the defense went to work and gathered a team save that bounced off the post. The ball was quickly cleared back into play to hold Clark off the board and preserved the 1-0 win.
