HOW IT HAPPENED
10": Just 10 minutes into the start of the first frame, Emerson committed a costly foul that was enough to give Wesleyan a penalty kick chance. A chance that Harmaty capitalized on and put the Lions in a 1-0 deficit early on.
- Not long after the Cardinals got onto the board, the Lions threatened to lock up the score at the 13 minute mark with a shot by Dziejma towards the bottom right corner, but was snatched by Devanny.
57": Off a feed from Ruehlemann, Wheeler found the back of the net against Ramer to give Wesleyan the 2-0 lead, a lead that they would not surrender.
- At the 60 minute mark, Emerson gave themselves another opportunity to get on the board as Gianlucia Mejia fired off a shot towards the bottom left side only to have Devanny stop it.
