The Lead: The Emerson Men's soccer team was blanked by Coast Guard 1-0 to close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon at Rotch Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • In an evenly fought match that saw 21 total fouls (16 of which were called on Emerson) one goal from Coast Guard's Noah Engstrom proved to be the difference.

16": Coast Guard struck first when Gabriel Gallant sent a pass into the box and Noah Engstrom headed it into the back of the net putting Coast Guard up 1-0.

57": Emerson got their lone shot off when Shane Baithrow attempted to tie up the score, but his attempt sailed wide of the net.

 

UP NEXT 

  • The Lions finish up their season with a 3-11-2 overall record and a NEWMAC record 0-7. The Lions look to come back strong in the 2022 campaign.
