The Emerson Women's Tennis Team traveled across the Charles River on Tuesday to take on MIT in a NEWMAC battle, falling 9-0 to the Engineers.
Alisha Parikh (San Francisco, Calif.) and Sabrina Jacobs (Demarest, N.J.) opened the doubles matches taking on Libby Rickeman and V Tabunshchyk, falling 8-1. Annie Woodbury (Salinas, Calif.) and Eliana Flores-Barber (Long Beach, Calif.) took on Megan Guenther and Marina Xhang, also falling 8-1. Thea Nagle (Mechanicsburg, Penn.) and Sarah Skeeles (Hamden, Conn.) fell to Lara Rakoceviv and Ashley Teng in the third doubles match, 8-0.
Parikh and Rickeman faced off in the first singles match, with Rickeman winning 6-1, 6-3. Jacobs took on Tabunshchyk, falling 6-1, 6-0. Annie Woodbury and Lara Rakocevic played the third doubles match, with Woodbury falling 6-2, 6-2. Tend defeated Flores Barber 6-0,6-0 in the fourth doubles pairing. Nagle and Skeeles both fell in the final two matches 6-1, 6-0.
Emerson is back in action on Saturday, April 6th when they welcome Smith College to St. John's Prep at 12:00pm.
