The Emerson Women's Tennis Team was defeated by the Wheaton (Mass.) Lyons on Saturday, falling 8-1 in match play.
The Lions opened up the match with Alisha Parikh and Sabrina Jacobs in the first doubles matchup. Parikh and Jacobs fell to top pairing from Wheaton 8-2. Annie Woodbury and Eliana Flores barber fell in the second pairing 8-4 and Rachel Scalera partnered with Alex Weingarten in the third pairing, with Emerson falling 8-2.
Flores-Barber was the lone lion to emerge victorious in the singles matches, taking down Connor O'Keefe 6-2,6-3 in her singles match. The Lions fell in the other five matches, dropping the team match 8-1.
Emerson gets back in action on Sunday in a non-conference match against Simmons.
