Women's Tennis Continues Winning Streak Against Alvernia

The Emerson Women's Tennis Team continued their strong start to the spring schedule with a win over Alvernia in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday.  Emerson won two of the three doubles matches, with Annie Woodbury and Eliana Flores-Barber winning the second pairing 8-6 over Emily Thek and Cassandra Bean.  Sabrina Jacobs and Cassia Burns won the third pairing 8-4 over Laura Covely and Mana Figurelli to give Emerson the 2-1 lead heading into the singles matches.

Alisha Parikh won the top singles pairing against Amanda Phillips in three sets, 6-3, 1-6, 10-8.  Rachel Scalera, Flores-Barber, and Thea Nagle all won their singles pairings.  Scalera defeated Lovely 6-2, 6-3.  Flores-Barber defeated Rachel Rineer 6-4, 6-0.  Nagle defeated Lean Kemper 6-2, 6-1.  The final three singles matches gave Emerson the victory in match play, 6-3. 

The Lions are back in action on Wednesday taking on Oneonta at 11:30 AM, for their final match in Florida.
