Women's Tennis Upended In First NEWMAC Tilt

The Emerson Women's Tennis Team fell to the Babson Beavers on Tuesday night, falling 9-0 in their first NEWMAC match of 2019.

In their doubles matches, Alisha Parikh and Sabrina Jacobs fell to Alexa Tutecky and Natasia Tamarkin 8-1.  Annie Woodbury and Eliana Flores-Barber fell to Carolina Merz and Marissa Madison 8-2. Thea Nagle and Mackenzie Swaney fell to Emily Roeper and Mary Kille 8-2. 

Parikh and Tutecky faced off in top singles pairing, with Tetucky winning 6-2, 6-0.  Tamarkin defeated Jacobs 6-0, 6-1.  Woodbury fell to Merz 6-3, 6-0.  In the fourth singles pairing, Flores-Barber fell to Madison 6-2, 6-2.  In the final two singles matches, Nagle fell to Roeper 6-0, 6-0 and Swaney fell to Kill 6-0, 6-2.

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday, when they continue their conference play against Mount Holyoke on Saturday at 11:00am before taking on UMASS Boston in non-conference play on Sunday at 12:00pm.
