The Emerson Women's Tennis Team defeated the Regis (Mass.) College Pride 6-3 in their first match back after going 3-1 over spring break in Florida. The Lions opened up the match by taking two of the three sdoubles matches. Alisha Parikh and Sabrina Jacobs defeated Katasha Jarvis and Ariana McCormack 8-5 in the top doubles pairing. Thea Nagle and Alex Weingarten defeated Oriana Attridge and Kaeleigh FitzPatrick 8-3 in the third doubles pairing. Emerson held a 2-1 advantage in heading into the singles matches.
Regis took the first singles pairing, while the Lions took the next two. Hacobs defeated McCormack in three sets, 6-4, 6-7, 10-3. Annie Woodbury defeated Katasha Jarvis in straight sets 6-4, 6-0. Nagle and Weingarten defeated FitzPatrick and Kaitlyn Colby respectively. Both Lions won in straight sets. Nagle won 6-1, 6-2 while Weingarten won 6-1, 6-0.
Emerson is back in action on Tuesday, when they travel to take on the Babson Beavers in their opening NEWMAC contest of 2019.
