The Lead: The Emerson Women's Tennis Team got it's first NEWMAC victory since 2013 and swept their doubles matches for the first time ever in the NEWMAC.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Alisha Parikh and Rachel Scalera defeated Joanna Kim and Allison Ahern 9-8.
• Meredith Stisser and Sabrina Jacobs defeated June Lee and Emma Essenmacher 9-8.
• Cassia Burns and Jolin Cheng defeated Samantha Peikes and Kara Van Allen 8-3.
• Sabrina Jacobs, Meredith Stisser, Cassia Burns, and Jolin Cheng each won their singles matches in two sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Emerson won all three doubles matches for the first time, headlined by Alisha Parikh and Rachel Scalera winning 9-8 in the top pairing.
• The pairing fought off multiple match points in order to win their doubles match.
• Sabrina Jacobs and Meredith Stisser also won their doubles match with a 9-8 score.
• Both doubles pairings came back from a 1-4 defecit in the tiebreaker set to win their matches.
• Emerson won their first NEWMAC match since 2013.
