Box Score WESTON, Mass. – A physical game which saw the Emerson Men's Soccer Team outshoot the Regis Pride didn't fall the way of the Lions Tuesday night as they fell 1-0. The Lions are now 0-1-1 on the year as Regis improves to 1-1.
The first half saw the Lions come out swinging as they blasted nine shots at Regis five of which were on target, but the Pride's Greg Koutroukas was on point with five saves to keep the Lions at bay. RC also put up six of their own, but Jacob Sigler put up two saves of his own as the half ended with a 0-0 tie.
The second half saw things get feisty though as five yellow cards were issued in the half to keep the game in control. EC again outshot Regis 10 to eight in the half with four were on goal, but they couldn't find the back of the net as the difference maker in the game came in the 48th minute of action as RC's Trevor Hamilton put a ball through the middle that Don Gomez picked up to evade the keeper and put away for the 1-0 final.
The Lions return to action next Wednesday as they set to host the Newbury Nighthawks at 6 p.m. at Rotch Field in Boston, Mass.
