Box Score MEDFORD, Mass. – An early goal by the Fisher Falcons made no difference Tuesday night as the Emerson Men's Soccer Team went on a scoring tear en route to a 5-1 win. The Lions improve to 5-7-3 on the year while Fisher drops to 7-9 overall.
The first half saw the Lions come out a bit sluggish as the ninth minute of play saw Tyler Gahara put away a goal on a cross for a quick 1-0 lead. It was short-lived though as the 15th minute of action saw Matt Zani knot it up at one each before Adam Halliday went back-to-back with assists from Zani and Evan Eubanks pushing it to 3-1 at the break.
The Falcons defense put up a good effort in the second half to try and stymie the Emerson attack, though EC put up 21 more shots to Fisher's three in the half, as the Lions forced 11 saves out of Jose Villagran. Jeremy Leder was the next one to step up for the Lions in the 78th minute as he put in his first of the season with an assist from Clark Jacobson before Evan Eubanks went unassisted in the 79th minute of play to close out the impressive 5-1 win.
The Lions will return to the NEWMAC slate of their schedule this Saturday as they set to host Clark at 1 p.m. at Rotch Field in Boston, Mass.
