Havens Leads Men's Soccer To 3-0 Win Over Regis

Box Score

BOSTON, Mass. – Two goals from Jon Havens and a nightcap by Austin Alphonse gave the Emerson Men's Soccer Team a 3-0 win Tuesday night in their home opener over Regis. With the win the Lions are now 1-1 on the season.

The first half saw the Lions jump out only a couple minutes into the match as Jon Havens put up a cross to Ole Eriksen that was tapped into the net by a Regis player to make it 1-0. The Lions outshot the Pride nine to three in the half before adding to their lead with Jon Havens striking again with Adam Halliday setting up a cross that Havens pocketed in the top right corner.

The second half saw the Pride play a little scrappier with Stefan Todorovic putting up six saves in the half. It wasn't enough though as the Lions snuck another one past Regis in the 85th minute of action as Ole Eriksen placed a perfect ball through the middle that Austin Alphonse took the rest of the way on a breakaway to make it the 3-0 final.

The Lions will return to action this week as they travel to Suffolk on Saturday for a 6 p.m. match up against the Rams in Boston, Mass.
