Box Score 2 BOSTON, Mass. – Julianna Augustine and Elizabeth Reid paired up for 28 kills on the day Saturday to lead the Emerson Women's Volleyball Team in sweeps over Lesley and Wentworth. With the wins Emerson now hold at 7-3 on the year.
Game one saw EC take on the Lesley Lynx where the Lions came out full throttle, throwing down a vicious .714 team attack percentage with Elizabeth Reid dropping six kills for a perfect 1.000 attack percentage. Giuli Frendak stepped up to lead the offense, posting 12 assists as Emerson ripped through set one 25-7.
Set two saw the Lynx push back a little bit, but Elizabeth Reid wasn't to be denied again, this time hitting .800 with four kills to lead the floor. The Lions serving game proved to be a huge difference in the set as well with four aces, three from Brandy Eggermann alone to take a 25-18 win.
The Lions kicked it up a notch again in the third set, swinging .389 while spreading the offense more across the board. Another four service aces powered EC as well as Giuli Frendak and Heather Park both laid claim to two each as Emerson finished the sweep 25-15.
Game two on the day saw the Wentworth Leopards step to the court with Emerson again coming out strong in the first set with a .333 average. The Lions served WIT off the court as well with five aces, three from Jessica Hamilton and two from Kat Rice en route to a 25-9 win.
Set two saw Giuli Frendak set the table for the Lions as she tossed up 12 assists, connecting with Julianna Augustine for five of them, who hit .556 in the set. The Emerson defense was stingy as well with Jessica Hamilton, Heather Park and Jamie Morgan all pulling in four digs each to help fuel the 25-15 win.
Three was all EC needed again as Jessica Hamilton reeled back to drop six on the Leopards to lead the floor. The defense fired up as well with two more blocks on the day with two assists from Annie Hall helping to close the door with a 25-19 win.
The Lions will open up NEWMAC action this week as they set to travel to Wellesley on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. match in Wellesley, Mass.
