Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – An offensive showcase awaited the Emerson Women's Soccer Team Tuesday night as five different Lions netted a goal on the night en route to a 5-1 win over Mount Ida. With the win the Lions are now 2-1 on the year while the Mustangs fall to 1-3.
The first half was sparked up with a goal by Haley Moser who saw a cross from Mollie Coyne that she put a sliding one touch on for a goal in the bottom right. Tayllar Righini stepped up next with an unreal goal off a free kick from Alyssa Giannone that she went up and put a head on to net one past a diving Mustang keeper.
Righini stepped up again, this time on the assist as she laid down a perfect cross that Maggie Sheetz dropped in the back right of the goal. A Lion misplay at the end of the half was the only misstep of the night after a ball came off an EC defender that game MTI's Briana Tomaselli was able to put away that made it 3-1 at the half.
The second half was all Emerson again though as Riana Odin put up a cross on a free kick that Alyssa Giannone did the rest of the work with to make it 4-1. Last up on the night was Christine White who set up Mollie Coyne who dropped it in the bottom right to pull it to 5-1.
The Lions return to action this Thursday as they hit the home pitch again, hosting Wheelock in a 5 p.m. game at Rotch Field in Boston, Mass.
