Opening up the day, the Lions looked nasty as they took on the St. Joe's of Maine Monks, taking the first set 25-14. Swinging a lethal .318, Kat Rice floored five to give Emerson the 1-0 lead. The Lions came out in set two discombobulated though as they just couldn't seem to get on rhythm as SJM put up three blocks and a .333 team average to even it with a 25-15 win.
Set three saw similar from the Lions as they couldn't shake off their slump, or the blockers of SJM, as they were only able to floor seven kills as the Monks took the lead with a 25-14 win. Set four saw the Lions roar back though as Kat Rice exploded for six kills as EC swung .214 to knot it at two with a 25-23 win.
Even with the momentum, SJM came out in the fifth with a purpose as they hit .400 and thwarted EC's offense with four blocks as the Lions just couldn't surge back, finally falling 15-10.
After a break Emerson came back refreshed and ready to rock as they hit .500 in the first set with Kat Rice and Alex Lynn combing for nine of EC's 14 kills as they put away Norwich with a quick 25-12 win. Set two saw some heroics by the Lions as they saw themselves down 18-6 at one point but put up six straight points to rattle Norwich's cage. After four tie scores and Kat Rice's six kills the Lions scrapped back with a 26-24 win.
The Lions blasted back to complete their 13th sweep of the season in the third as Alyssa Thorne floored four while Heather Park and Brandy Eggermann both put up two service aces with EC closing out the match with a 25-15 win.
