Women's Tennis Just Barely Edged By Endicott In Season Finale

BEVERLY, Mass. – While Savannah Mosser extended her singles streak to 18, the Emerson Women's Tennis Team was just unable to clinch Saturday afternoon as they were edged 5-4 by Endicott. On the year, EC is 7-4 while Endicott improves to 12-2.

In doubles action, Lacey Russell and Savannah Mosser got the party started as they collected an 8-3 win over Chrissy Martel and Natalie Egbert to push their doubles streak to 11 without a loss on the season.

The Gulls fired back though in what would prove integral, as the number two and three spots rallied back to take two points and send the match into singles with Endicott leading 2-1.

First up saw the Gulls take a step closer to clinching the match as Rachel Fenstermaker stepped up for a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win in the six spot to make it 3-1. The Lions fired back though as Savannah Mosser kept her singles streak alive with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win in the two spot.

Lacey Russell pulled in next for the Lions in the one spot, topping Emilie Cloutier 6-1, 6-2 to make it an even 3-3. From there it was all Endicott though as the Gulls swooped in for the W with the three and four spots taking wins to shut the door as the number five spot retired after a solid battle from Jana Winfield.

Up next, the Lions will await to hear who they host in the GNAC Tournament as they'll look to vie for a conference title next week.
