Men's Soccer Falls Short to Lesley Lynx

Box Score

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emerson Men's Soccer Team were unable to battle off an offensive assault of the visiting Lesley Lynx Wednesday night as they dropped a 2-0 game to the Green and Gold to fall to 1-5 overall on the season with a conference battle against Norwich awaiting this weekend.

Out of the gates, the Lynx came out ready to give Emerson a run for the cup as they blasted 10 shots in the span of 45 minutes on the Lions. EC kept pace with eight shots of their own with Noah Price and Max Perkins tending the nets on both ends. Price held the line until a dive at a charging Ali Sozeri but saw the ball pop over his outstretched hands and find the back of the net off a Sozeri point-blank release to make it 1-0 headed into the break.

The in the second half Lesley again came out ready for some offense, putting up another 10 shots which Noah Price gave it all to. Max Perkins on the other end of the ball kept the Lions off the board with some incredible saves off potent EC shots, but the Lion effort wasn't enough on both ends as the offense remained silent and another goal hit the net in the 78th minute as Ari Sinanis put in a free kick off his head to make it 2-0 final.

Up next the Lions will head to Vermont this Saturday as they continue GNAC play against the Norwich Cadets at 3 p.m. in Northfield, Vermont.
