BOSTON, Mass. (September 19, 2026) – Senior Connor Policarpio scored a pair of second half goals to send Springfield College to a 2-0 victory over Emerson College in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's soccer opener for both at Rotch Field this afternoon.
Junior Tommy Fenton did the rest for Springfield in goal, posting five saves to preserve the shutout. Sophomore Asa Roberts registered three stops in goal for Emerson.
Policarpio opened the scoring just prior to the hour mark with his second goal of the season and then provided a late insurance marker with just 1:20 remaining, sealing the Springfield win with his third of the year.
Emerson (3-3-1, 0-1-0 NEWMAC) is right back in action here at Rotch Field on Tuesday when it hosts Bridgewater State University for a non-conference matchup at 6 p.m. Springfield (2-3-1, 1-0-0 NEWMAC) visits SUNY-New Paltz on Tuesday at 4:45 p.m.
