BOSTON, Mass. (September 15, 2026) – Emerson College served up a season-high 19 aces to record its third-straight home win with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-12, 25-12) sweep of Dean College in a non-conference women's volleyball matchup at Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gymnasium tonight.

Senior Lauren Yoo led Emerson's service game with a career-high matching seven service aces with 14 digs and four assists. Junior Sophia Schiappa added a season-high five aces with 14 assists and five digs.

Junior Chloe Hokenson helped pace a balanced attack with six kills and a .333 hitting percentage with 14 assists, two aces and five digs. Senior Rachel Dickerson also hit .333 with six kills and two digs, while sophomore Lizi Horning contributed six kills.

Senior Chloe Demaio led Dean with four kills, while junior Maddie Seymour totaled ten digs, two aces, two kills and two block assists.

Emerson did not trail in taking the opening set behind seven aces, including three by Yoo, while Horning produced four kills and Dickerson added three on just seven total attacks (.429). Back-to-back aces from Hokenson spearheaded a five-point run on her serve to grab control of the set with a 17-8 lead.       

Emerson took control of the second set with eight straight points on Yoo's serve, including four aces, for a 19-10 lead on its way to the set win. Hokenson led the attack in the set with four kills on six attempts (.667), while Schiappa chipped in two aces.

Emerson overcame a slow start to set three to gain control with a seven-point run on Schiappa's serve for a 14-7 lead it would not relinquish to close out the match. Schiappa and senior Kori Meissner each recorded two aces for the Lions, while Schiappa also dished out eight assists with Dickerson and sophomores Catherine McDonough and Dalena Garrett each contributing three kills.

Emerson (7-1, 0-0 NEWMAC) returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Muhlenberg University and Rhode Island College for a non-conference tri-match starting at 10 a.m. Dean (0-8, 0-1 GNAC) visits Saint Joseph's College of Maine for a GNAC matchup on Saturday at 11 a.m.
