NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (April 21, 2026) – Clark University grabbed an early lead and then held off a late Emerson College comeback attempt to claim an 11-6 victory in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) baseball matchup at the New England Baseball Complex this afternoon.

Sophomore Myles Fournier fell a triple shy of hitting for the cycle to lead the Clark lineup that recorded 15 hits on the afternoon, finishing 3-for-5 with a double, home run, three RBI and two runs scored. Junior Chas Caron hit 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI, while senior Alfonso Jalil finished 2-for-5 with a home run. Sophomore Cole Camara chipped in by going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs scored and an RBI.

Freshman Tyler Hansen earned the win (3-1) on the mound for Clark, scattering two earned runs and five hits over seven innings with five strikeouts and a walk.

Junior Braeden O'Connell led Emerson by hitting 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while sophomore Aidan Callahan was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. First year Vincent Fuller finished 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored, while classmate Jack McCoy chipped in with a double.

First year righthander Samuel Ravela took the loss (2-2) allowing five earned runs on four hits with a strikeout and a walk in two thirds of an inning. Clark plated the five runs that would prove to be the difference in the top of the first after Ravela retired the first batter of the contest. Camara and senior Brayden Hollinrake followed a hit batter and four pitch walk with a passed ball and wild pitch along the way with back-to-back RBI singles. After a double steal placed two in scoring position, Fournier laced an RBI double to left and then Caron added a ground rule double of his own with two out to chase Ravela.

Emerson got on the scoreboard in the second with an RBI single to left center by Callahan after first year Liam Wagner led off with an infield single. Clark answered with a pair in the top of the third with Fournier's two-run homer to left with one out after Camara led off with a single and stole second.

Fuller's third home run of the season to left drew Emerson back within five with two out in the fourth. Clark stretched its lead to seven (9-2) in the sixth when Soares followed an RBI single to center from sophomore Bennett Hewett with an RBI ground rule double to right center. The Cougars added two more insurance runs in the ninth when Jalil led off with a home run and Hewett singled up the middle with two outs and later scored on a wild pitch.

Emerson did not go down without a fight with four runs in the bottom of the ninth. Fuller walked and Callahan singled to lead off the frame before junior Torin McCann-Braun recorded a one-out RBI single to left center. Callahan scored on a wild pitch and the Lions went on to load the bases with one out. O'Connell produced an RBI single to left and then Wagner drove in a run with when he reached on a fielder's choice before Clark was able to stop the threat.
