BOSTON, Mass. (March 9, 2026) – Emerson College senior goalkeeper Ethan Corby has earned the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Athlete of the Week for men's lacrosse, presented by SKYBOKX 109 Bar & Grill in Natick, Massachusetts, the Conference announced today.

Corby earns NEWMAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in his career after he averaged 11.0 saves per game with a 10.63 goals against average and .600 save percentage in Emerson's three games last week, collecting four ground balls. He backboned the Lions defensive effort in Sunday's 15-4 win over Emmanuel College with a season-high matching 17 saves, while yielding just three goals over 49-minutes of play, adding two ground balls. Corby kept Emerson in touch during its Emerson's 7-5 setback to Montclair State University on Friday with 14 saves and three ground balls. He opened the week with two first quarter saves at No. 20 Bates College on Tuesday.
Corby has started all seven games in the Emerson goal this season and is averaging 12.3 saves per game with a .562 save percentage and 11.42 goals against average in 352:10. He ranks fourth in the NEWMAC in saves per game and fifth in save percentage and goals against average so far this season. Corby has recorded double digit saves in six of the seven games played this season, with a season-best 17 against WestConn and Emmanuel.
Corby has started 11 of the 22 games he has played over his Emerson career, averaging 10.0 saves with a .592 save percentage and 11.96 goals against average over 692:29. He has also totaled 36 ground balls and three caused turnovers, chipping in an assist.
Emerson (2-5, 0-0 NEWMAC) returns to action on Saturday when it opens NEWMAC play by hosting MIT at Rotch Field at 4 p.m.
