Kiniry and Corby fuel Lions on day two of Leanos Cup

MADISON, N.J. (March 8, 2026) – Emerson College rode a ten-goal run to break open a one goal lead in the first quarter on its way to a commanding 15-4 victory over Emmanuel College on day two of the Tom Leanos Cup, hosted by Drew University, at Ranger Stadium today.

Senior Aedan Kiniry totaled five points with three goals and two assists to lead the Emerson attack, adding three ground balls and a caused turnover. Classmate Ethan Corby backboned the Lions defensive effort with a season-high matching 17 saves, while yielding just three goals over 49-minutes of play, collecting two ground balls.

Senior John Marcone collected five ground balls and a caused turnover, while junior Landon Segal added six ground balls and a caused turnover to lead the Emerson defense.

Senior Cole Cloney scored two goals to lead Emmanuel, while junior Cooper Mehlhorn added a goal and assist. Sophomore Colby Enos finished with 14 saves in 47:34 in the Saints goal.

Kiniry and Stern-Hayes gave Emerson an early two goal cushion less than three minutes into the game. The Lions extended the lead to 4-1 after Kiniry set up a goal from senior Toby Cunningham and then Frey scored with 5:15 remaining. Cloney and senior Ethan Madura pulled Emmanuel back within a goal (4-3) with 2:53 to play in the opening frame.

Kiniry scored twice within a minute on either side of the first and second quarters to spark Emerson's ten goal run that put the game away. He finished with a goal and assist in the second quarter, while Stern-Hayes potted his second and Bradley scored his first of two-straight on either side of halftime to first put the Lions up by six (9-3) at the half and then open a three goal third to extend the cushion to nine (12-3) heading to the fourth.

Stern-Hayes helped cap the Emerson run by setting up sophomore Zack Jewel's first career goal 3:04 into the fourth quarter and then first year Dylan Wong pushed the Lions lead to 14-3 with 9:37 to play.

Emerson's winning margin is its largest since a 23-10 triumph over Saint Joseph's College of Maine in 2024.
