NEW LONDON, Conn. (March 25, 2026) – The United States Coast Guard Academy staked out a double figure lead at the half and turned back an Emerson College comeback try in the second in posting a 19-8 victory in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's lacrosse action at Cadet Memorial Field this evening.
Senior Abby McAllister had a hand in 11 of Coast Guard's 19 goals with her 11-point effort of four goals and seven assists, adding a ground ball, caused turnover and draw control. Senior Isabella Judge added four goals and an assist, while classmate Hannah Warnke and sophomore Riliegh Leary each netted three goals for the Bears, with Leary also collecting two draw controls, a ground ball and caused turnover.
Sophomore Kailee Heron and freshman Kaelyn Krozy combined to make two saves in the Coast Guard goal. Senior Ellie Spotts made one second half save in goal for Emerson, while classmate Lindsey Wettstein registered two first half saves for the Lions.
Junior Ava DelliCompagni played a role in five of Emerson's eight goals, scoring three and assisting on two others, while grabbing seven draw controls and a ground ball. Sophomore Laina Gustafson netted three goals for the Lions with four draw controls, while classmate Laura Lovell dished out two assists.
McAllister paced Coast Guard to an 8-0 lead after a quarter of play with two goals and three assists and notched six of her 11 points in the first half that the Bears staked out a 12-0 lead at the intermission. Emerson scored the first three goals of the second half, with DelliCompagni posting a goal and assist as the Lions trimmed the deficit to nine (12-3) midway through the third quarter.
Emerson drew back within eight (15-7) when DelliCompagni set up sophomore Adele Eaton for her third goal of the season less than five minutes into the fourth quarter, but Warnke scored back-to-back goals assisted by McAllister 93-seconds apart to answer for Coast Guard.

Emerson (4-6, 0-3 NEWMAC) is off until next Wednesday, April 1, when they return home to host Babson College, receiving votes in this week's national coaches poll, for a NEWMAC contest at Rotch Field at 6 p.m. Coast Guard (6-1, 3-0 NEWMAC) hosts Springfield College on Saturday at noon.
