BOSTON, Mass. (February 21, 2026) – Emmanuel College hit .368 and posted nine blocks in posting a 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-14) victory over Emerson College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's volleyball matchup at Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gymnasium tonight.
Senior Trey Guest led the Emmanuel attack that hit .368 with a match-high 17 kills with just four errors on 26 total attacks for a .500 hitting percentage, adding three digs and two block assists. Sophomore Eric Barcelos contributed six kills on nine attacks (.667) with four service aces, three digs and three blocks, while first year Tye Barrett dished out 26 assists with three blocks and four blocks for the Saints.
Sophomore Mario Cielo-Salinas led Emerson with eight kills and two digs, while first year Ryan Chen dished out 19 assists with two aces, five digs and a block assist.
Barrett doled out 12 assists to four different hitters, while contributing three kills on four attacks (.750) himself, to engineer an Emmanuel attack that hit .343 to take the opening set. Guest tallied seven kills for the Saints who grabbed a 10-5 lead after three-straight kills on junior Cayson Branconier's serve, who closed out the set with a kill.
Emmanuel closed out the match by grabbing a 10-5 lead after a 6-1 run keyed by a pair of Guest kills and then opening a 22-11 advantage on its way to completing the sweep.
Emerson (3-8, 0-1 GNAC) returns to action on Friday, February 27, when it visits No. 14-ranked Lasell University for a GNAC matchup at 7 p.m. The Lions return to Boylston Street on Thursday, March 5, to host Wheaton College at 7 p.m. Emmanuel (6-6, 1-1 GNAC) visits Nichols College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
