WENHAM, Mass. – Emerson Men's Soccer extended its unbeaten streak to four games on Tuesday (Sept. 16) evening at Brigham Athletic Complex on the campus of Gordon College. The Lions picked up a 2-0 victory over the Fighting Scots.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Emerson went on the offensive early in the match, winning two corner kicks and registering four shots in the opening five minutes.

The Lions got on the board in the 13th minute as first year Alex Lucas broke free on the right side and slotted a low shot to the far post on a feed from graduate student Dominic Reiter.

The visitors doubled their lead five minutes later when junior Rohan Edwards beat the Gordon keeper.

Emerson did well to protect the lead in the second half, but the hosts put on a lot of pressure in the final 10 minutes. They won four corner kicks and registered three of their four shots of the half during that period, but the Lions were up to the test.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

Emerson dominated offensively, outshooting Gordon 11-4 in the first half and 16-8 in the match. However, when it came to shots on target, the teams were deadlocked at four apiece.

Gordon had seven corner kicks to Emerson's six with six of them coming in the second half as the Fighting Scots pushed for a score.

Emerson's Edwards and Diego Garcia-Ocampo each had a match-high four shots.

Lions first year goalkeeper Asa Roberts made four saves in the victory, while Gordon goalkeepers Isaiah Diaz and Landen Lonesky had one save apiece.
