Box Score BEVERLY, Mass. – Emerson Women's Soccer dropped a 1-0 decision to non-conference foe Endicott at Hempstead Stadium in Beverly, Mass. on Wednesday (Sept. 10) night. It was the first loss of the season for the Lions.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Endicott had an aggressive start to the match, registering the first shot just over 90 seconds after the opening whistle.

Both teams were a bit over eager early on as offside calls stifled any offensive development.

Endicott scored the only goal of the match in the 40th minute as senior Eliza Walker beat Emerson goalkeeper Healey Walker on an assist from freshman Olivia Andriola.

Emerson struggled to get anything going offensively as it did not register a shot in the contest.

Endicott only had six shots in the match with Walker's goal being the only shot on-target.

Endicott also had a 2-0 advantage on corner kicks.

Healey Walker and Addie Costello each played a half for the Lions, while Amanda Cosgrove played all 90 minutes for the Gulls in the victory.

Next up on the docket for Emerson is Roger Williams. The Hawks will visit Rotch Field on Saturday, Sept. 13 as the Lions begin a four-game home stretch. Kick off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
