WELLESLEY, Mass.- The Emerson College softball team dropped a 4-0 decision before downing Wellesley 6-3 in extra innings Friday in a pivotal league series.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wellesley tallied a run in the bottom of the first to snag an early 1-0 edge.
- The Blue chalked up a pair of runs in the second to widen the margin to 3-0.
- The home side tacked on a run in the fifth to claim a 4-0 lead.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wellesley produced a run in the fourth inning to grab a 1-0 lead.
- Emerson tallied two runs in the top of the sixth to jump ahead 2-1. Riley Caiazza (Schaghticoke, N.Y.) laced a single down the right field line to drive in Grace Beaulieu (Rochester, N.H.) and Mackenzie Rice (Severna Park, Md.).
- The Blue rallied to score a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to level the game at 2-2.
- The Lions manufactured four runs in the top of the 10th to capture a 6-2 advantage.
- Wellesley managed one run in the home half of the 10th inning but Emerson held on to secure a 6-3 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Riley Caiazza (Schaghticoke, N.Y.) racked up three RBIs and three base hits.
- Izzi Shaffer (Tyngsborough, Mass.) posted a pair of hits.
- Mackenzie Rice (Severna Park, Md.) chipped in with two runs scored, one base knock, and a stolen base.
- Jessica Gomez (West Chester, Pa.) spun a complete game and scattered seven hits in 10 innings of action.
