BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College softball team absorbed two losses to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Friday afternoon at Rotch Field, falling 9-0 and 6-1.
GAME ONE

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- MIT chalked up a pair of runs in the top of the first inning to establish an early 2-0 lead.
- The Engineers tacked on two runs in the second frame to double their advantage to 4-0.
- The visitors scored three runs to stretch the gap to 7-0 in the top of the sixth inning.
- MIT added two runs in the seventh to extend its lead to 9-0.

- Emerson responded with a run in the bottom of the second to level the contest at 1-1. Riley Caiazza (Schaghticoke, N.Y.) scurried home from third base on an RBI groundout by Caleigh Sheehan (Bolton, Conn.).
- The Engineers tallied two runs in the fourth inning to capture a 3-1 advantage.
- The guests produced one run in the sixth to widen their lead to 4-1.
- MIT tacked on two runs in the seventh inning to push the margin to 6-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

- Grace Beaulieu (Rochester, N.H.) posted a pair of hits.
