CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Emerson College women's lacrosse team absorbed a 25-5 loss at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- MIT boasted a 10-1 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter.
- The Engineers edged the Lions 3-2 in second-period scoring to sport a 13-3 advantage at the halftime break.
- The home team extended the margin to 19-4 through three quarters of action.
- MIT outscored Emerson 6-1 in the final frame to roll to a 25-5 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Ava DelliCompagni (Coatesville, Pa.) tallied two goals and dished out one assist.
- Callie Krosin (Pikesville, Md.) chipped in with one goal and one assist.
- Grace Danehy (Mansfield, Mass.) and Laura Lovell (Norwalk, Conn.) each added one goal.
- Ellie Spotts (Corona Del Mar, Calif.) started between the pipes and registered nine saves. Lindsey Wettstein (South Hempstead, N.Y.) posted five saves in the second half.
- Emerson managed 11 shots on the night while MIT racked up 47 shot attempts.
