DelliCompagni Notches 100th Career Point as Women’s Lacrosse Tops Wellesley

BOSTON, Mass.- Sophomore Ava DelliCompagni (Coatesville, Pa.) collected her 100th career point as the Emerson College women's lacrosse team earned a 26-19 victory over Wellesley Saturday night at Rotch Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Emerson grabbed a 4-3 lead after 15 minutes of play.
  • The Lions rattled off nine goals in the second quarter while limiting the Blue to three goals to sport a 13-6 advantage at the half.
  • Wellesley outscored Emerson 8-6 in the third frame to narrow the gap to 19-14.
  • The home side netted seven goals while the visitors managed five goals in the fourth quarter as the Lions secured their first conference victory of the season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

  • Ava DelliCompagni (Coatesville, Pa.) racked up 11 points on the night, scoring six goals and dishing out five assists while also collecting 10 draw controls.
  • Laina Gustafson (Cross Plains, Wisc.) netted five goals and added four assists to go with a team-high 11 draw controls.
  • Callie Krosin (Pikesville, Md.) finished with three goals and four assists.
  • Laura Lovell (Norwalk, Conn.) contributed with four goals and one assist.
  • Holland Rutter (Pingree Grove, Ill.) posted three goals and one assist while Stella Huberlie (Canandaigua, N.Y.) scored three goals.
  • Ellie Spotts (Corona Del Mar, Calif.) recorded 11 saves in goal for the Lions.
  • Emerson produced a season-high 51 shots on the night while Wellesley concluded the contest with 37 shot attempts.
