Baseball Falls to Framingham State

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.- The Emerson College baseball team dropped a 15-2 decision to Framingham State Thursday afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex.


THE BASICS:
Score: Emerson 2, Framingham State 15

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Framingham State raced out to a 3-0 lead, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning.
  • The Rams tacked on a run in the third to widen the gap to 4-0.
  • Framingham State tallied three runs in the fourth inning to extend its advantage to 7-0.
  • The Rams added four runs in the fifth to stretch the margin to 11-0.
  • Emerson got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning, chalking up two runs to trim the deficit to 11-2. Nicholas Favazzo (Lexington, Mass.) roped a two-out double to drive in Ethan Gorman (Randolph, N.J.) and Robby Posio (Queens, N.Y.).
  • Framingham State plated four runs in the top of the seventh frame to extend its lead to 15-2.

Emerson travels to Florida to compete at the RussMatt Invitational March 9-14. The Lions will open play in the Sunshine State March 9 with a doubleheader against Alfred.
