NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.- The Emerson College baseball team dropped a 15-2 decision to Framingham State Thursday afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Framingham State raced out to a 3-0 lead, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning.
- The Rams tacked on a run in the third to widen the gap to 4-0.
- Framingham State tallied three runs in the fourth inning to extend its advantage to 7-0.
- The Rams added four runs in the fifth to stretch the margin to 11-0.
- Emerson got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning, chalking up two runs to trim the deficit to 11-2. Nicholas Favazzo (Lexington, Mass.) roped a two-out double to drive in Ethan Gorman (Randolph, N.J.) and Robby Posio (Queens, N.Y.).
- Framingham State plated four runs in the top of the seventh frame to extend its lead to 15-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Robby Posio (Queens, N.Y.) finished with two hits and one run scored.
- Chris Ferara (Coral Springs, Fla.) recorded two hits.
- Nicholas Favazzo (Lexington, Mass.) drove in two RBIs, landed one base knock, and added a stolen base.
- Aidan Rice (Columbus, Ohio) pitched one inning in his second start of the spring. Tyler Metcalf (Louisville, Ky.), Jake Morvillo (Glen Ridge, N.J.), Huon Fitzpatrick (Encinitas, Calif.), Henry Kagan (Pelham, N.Y.), and Jake Smith (Boyne City, Mich.) all made relief appearances.

Emerson travels to Florida to compete at the RussMatt Invitational March 9-14. The Lions will open play in the Sunshine State March 9 with a doubleheader against Alfred.
