BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College women's lacrosse team captured a 17-14 victory over UMass Boston Monday night at Rotch Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Emerson established a 6-3 lead after the first quarter of play.
- UMass Boston finished with a 5-3 edge in second-period scoring as the Lions clung to a narrow -8 halftime advantage.
- The Beacons outscored the home side 4-3 in the third as the two teams headed into the final frame deadlocked at 12-12.
- Emerson poured in five unanswered goals to start the fourth quarter and claim a 17-12 lead.
- UMass Boston battled back with a pair of scores to cut the deficit to 17-14 with less than two minutes remaining in regulation, but the Lions held on to snap a five-game skid.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Laina Gustafson (Cross Plains, Wisc.) scored a career-high five goals while adding four ground controls.
- Ava DelliCompagni (Coatesville, Pa.) posted 10 draw controls, six ground balls, five assists, and two goals.
- Callie Krosin (Pikesville, Md.) finished with four goals and a pair of assists.
- Ava Selby (Boonsboro, Md.) chipped in with three goals while Laura Lovell (Norwalk, Conn.) notched two goals.
- Between the pipes, Ellie Spotts (Corona Del Mar, Calif.) recorded 10 saves.
- Emerson manufactured 39 shots on in the contest and UMass Boston finished with 32 shot attempts.
