BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College men's lacrosse team suffered a 16-7 setback to Wheaton Saturday afternoon at Rotch Field in the first New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) tilt of the season.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wheaton sported a 4-2 lead through the opening 15 minutes of action.
- The Lyons outscored the Lions 6-2 in the second frame to hold a 10-4 advantage at the halftime intermission.
- Emerson trimmed the gap to 12-7 after scoring three goals in the third quarter while Wheaton netted a pair.
- The visitors chalked up four unanswered goals in the fourth to claim their fourth-consecutive win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Benson Offitt (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) tallied three goals and dished out one assist.
- Jack Burns (Clarksville, Md.) netted three goals on the afternoon.
- Grant Wilson (Los Angeles, Calif.) finished with one goals and three ground balls.
- Quinn Gardiner (Towson, Md.) collected a team-high five ground balls while John Marcone (Oakland, Calif.) scooped up four ground balls.
- Elijah Turbow (Valley Village, Calif.) posted four saves in his eighth start of the year and Ethan Corby (Whitby, Ontario) recorded nine saves in his fourth appearance.
- Emerson produced 29 shots on the day while Wheaton racked up 50 attempts.
