Baseball Notches 13-5 Victory Over Albertus Magnus

AUBURNDALE, Fla.- The Emerson College baseball team collected a 13-5 win over Albertus Magnus Thursday afternoon.


THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Emerson snagged an early 1-0 lead, chalking up one run in the top of the first inning.
  • Albertus Magnus tallied three runs in the bottom of the first to capture a 3-1 edge.
  • The Lions manufactured five runs in the fourth frame to claim a 6-3 advantage.
  • Emerson generated three runs in the fifth to widen the margin to 9-3.
  • The Falcons plated a pair of runs in the home half of the fifth inning to trim the deficit to 9-5.
  • The Lions added four runs in the sixth to stretch the gap to 13-5.


INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

  • Jake Okamoto (Placentia, Calif.) racked up four hits, three RBIs, and two runs scored.
  • Charlie Coors (Golden, Colo.) notched three base hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored.
  • Ethan Gorman (Randolph, N.J.) finished with three RBIs, two base knocks, one run scored, and a stolen base.
  • Tyler Metcalf (Louisville, Ky.) threw 4.2 innings in his first start of the season and registered three strikeouts. Henry Kagan (Pelham, N.Y.) worked 1.1 inning in his fourth relief outing of the year. Oliver Low (Arlington, Mass.) pitched three innings and recorded three strikeouts in his second appearance out of the bullpen.
