GEORGETOWN, Texas- The Emerson College women's lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the season Wednesday, falling to Carthage 19-9 in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Carthage claimed a 7-3 lead through the first period of action.
- Emerson tallied the only goal of the second quarter as Ava DelliCompagni (Coatesville, Pa.) scored midway through the frame to cut the deficit to 7-4.
- The Firebirds sported a 5-4 edge in third-quarter scoring to boast a 12-8 advantage.
- Carthage chalked up seven goals in the fourth while limiting the Lions to just one goal to lock up its sixth-consecutive victory and remain undefeated on the year.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Callie Krosin (Pikesville, Md.) netted three goals and dished out one assist.
- Ava DelliCompagni (Coatesville, Pa.) finished with two goals and a pair of assists to go with four draw controls.
- Ava Selby (Boonsboro, Md.) chipped in with a team-high five draw controls and five ground balls while adding one goal.
- Between the pipes, Ellie Spotts (Corona Del Mar, Calif.) recorded six saves.
- Emerson generated 31 shots while Carthage concluded the contest with 32 shot attempts.
