BRISTOL, R.I.- The Emerson College men's lacrosse team suffered a 12-8 setback at Roger Williams Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Roger Williams clung to a narrow 2-1 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter.
- The Hawks scored three goals to stretch their advantage to 5-1 with 3:42 remaining in the second period.
- Emerson trimmed the deficit to 5-3 just before the halftime intermission as Grant Wilson (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Jack Burns (Clarksville, Md.) each tallied a goal late in the second frame.
- The home side outscored the visitors 5-1 in the third to widen the margin to 10-4 heading to the final quarter.
- The Lions sliced the gap to 10-6 with goals by Alex Menendez (Naperville, Ill.) and Brady Fish (San Clemente, Calif.) in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter.
- Roger Williams and Emerson traded a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation as the Hawks held on to collect their second-straight win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Jack Burns (Clarksville, Md.) netted three goals and added an assist.
- Benson Offitt (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) scored a pair of goals while Brady Fish (San Clemente, Calif.) notched one goal and one assist.
- Grant Wilson (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Alex Menendez (Naperville, Ill.) both chipped in with one goal.
- Elijah Turbow (Valley Village, Calif.) finished with 13 saves and five ground balls in his fifth start of the season.
- Emerson fired 24 shots on the afternoon while Roger Williams produced 40 attempts.
