BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College men's lacrosse team dropped an 18-4 decision to Bates Wednesday evening at Rotch Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bates netted three goals in the first quarter to establish a 3-0 lead.
- Emerson got on the board early in the second period as Jack Burns (Clarksville, Md.) scored a man-up goal to cut the deficit to 3-1.
- The Bobcats tallied six unanswered goals to boast a 9-1 advantage at the halftime break.
- The visitors outscored the home side 7-0 in the third to widen the gap to 16-1.
- Emerson notched three goals in the fourth frame and Bates chalked up a pair of goals to earn its second-straight win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Jack Burns (Clarksville, Md.) finished with two goals and an assist.
- Zachary Stern-Hayes (Brunswick, Maine) and Toby Cunningham (Norwalk, Conn.) both added one goal.
- John Marcone (Oakland, Calif.) collected team-high five ground balls while Charlie van Beuren (Portsmouth, R.I.) picked up four ground balls.
- Between the posts, Elijah Turbow (Valley Village, Calif.) registered 18 saves. Ethan Corby (Whitby, Ontario) manned the cage for the Lions in the fourth quarter and posted four saves.
- Emerson recorded 16 shots in the contest while Bates racked up 65 attempts.
