BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College men's lacrosse team collected its first win of the season, posting a 16-8 victory over St. Joseph's (Maine) Saturday afternoon at Rotch Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Emerson poured in seven goals in the first quarter to race out to a 7-0 lead.
- St. Joseph's netted four goals in the second period to cut the deficit to 7-4 at the half.
- After the Monks trimmed the gap to 8-6, the Lions scored four unanswered goals to extend their advantage to 12-6. Emerson chalked up a pair of scores in the final seconds of the third as Alex Menendez (Naperville, Ill.) picked up his first tally of the season before Quinn Gardiner (Towson, Md.) won the ensuing face-off and dashed straight to the cage to bury his first career goal with five seconds to go.
- The home side outscored the visitors 4-2 in the final frame to wrap up its first win of the spring.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Jack Burns (Clarksville, Md.) finished with four goals and a pair of assists.
- Zachary Stern-Hayes (Brunswick, Maine) tallied three goals on the afternoon.
- Brady Fish (San Clemente, Calif.) and Benson Offit (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) both registered a pair of goals.
- Between the posts, Elijah Turbow (Valley Village, Calif.) recorded 12 saves. Ethan Corby (Whitby, Ontario) and Jacob Goldberg (Roslyn Heights, N.Y. both made their season debuts in goal for Emerson in the contest.
- Emerson manufactured 44 shots on the afternoon while St. Joseph's generated 26 shot attempts.
