BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College men's basketball team endured a 72-50 loss to Wheaton Wednesday evening at Hank Smith Court in the final home game of the regular season.
THE BASICS:
Score: Emerson 50, Wheaton 72
Records: Lions (11-13, 6-9 NEWMAC) | Lyons (11-13, 6-9 NEWMAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- A layup late in the first half by Wheaton's Dimetri Iafrate gave the visitors a 38-36 lead at the halftime intermission.
- The Lyons scored 34 points in the second stanza and limited the Lions to just 19 points in the period to snap a four-game skid and earn a key conference win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Jacob Armant (Arlington, Texas) netted a team-high 15 points while adding five rebounds and three assists.
- Linus Helmhold (Krefeld, Germany) finished with 13 points and seven boards.
- Lucas Brenner (Miami, Fla.) chipped in with eight points.
- Emerson shot 32.1% from the floor and 33.3% from the perimeter on the night.
- Wheaton posted a field-goal percentage of 42.9% and connected on 11-of-21 from behind the arc.
- Dimetri Iafrate scored a game-best 22 points to lead the Lyons while Tristan Herry and Eoin Morrissey each added 11 points.

Prior to the start of Wednesday night's game, the Emerson College men's basketball program recognized senior Lucas Brenner (Miami, Fla.) and graduate student Trevor Arico (Saline, Mich.).
